Simple Beauty Ideas for a Healthy Lifestyle

Looking beautiful often takes precedent over all aspects of a woman’s life. This shouldn’t be the case. Getting a great look may make you look healthy but your health may suffer as a result. Using too much makeup, excessive sun bathing, dying your hair too much and many other activities can all contribute to ruined skin and hair health.Simple Beauty Ideas for a Healthy Lifestyle

Sporadic Skin Cleaning

Cleaning your face and body is important to staying beautiful. However, you can overdo the cleaning if you aren’t careful. Often, women find themselves cleaning their face several times in a day or taking multiple showers. This is actually a serious beauty mistake that can lead to skin dryness, redness and irritation.

It may seem backwards that cleaning your face would remove moisture, but it is the fault of the soap. The soap absorbs the dirt molecules from your skin but doesn’t differentiate between dirt and the moisture in your skin.

Instead of washing your face constantly, simply splash your face with warm water in the morning and take a bath or shower once a day. Clean your face just before you go to bed to remove dirt and oil build up.

Use Moisturizers

This tip goes hand in hand with the previous tip. As the day progresses, we often lose moisture in our skin due to evaporation. While this moisture comes back eventually, it can still lead to serious dryness and skin irritation.

Apply a simple moisturizer whenever your skin beings to feel dry.
Don’t apply a moisturizer more than once a day as this can lead to other problems, such oil build up and acne.

Choose a moisturizer that comes with grapeseed oil, jojoba oil, olive oil, avocado extract and shea butter. These natural and healthy ingredients are essential to restoring moisture to your skin. They avoid the pitfalls of chemical moisturizing by adding natural and skin safe moisture back to your body.

Avoid UV Rays

UV rays are healthy in small doses as they can actually help improve your mood and even have vital vitamins and minerals for your body and your skin. However, too much UV rays can cause serious problems for your skin. Problems connected with excessive UV ray exposure include:

  • Sun tans or sun burns that damage the skin.
  • Drastic loss of moisture in the skin.
  • Skin peeling or other unsightly skin problems.
  • Wrinkles.
  • Skin cancer.

Naturally, you want to have a tan whenever possible. You have to remember, though, that a tan is literally your skin cooking in the UV rays. Limiting yourself to five minutes of direct UV ray exposure a day can help limit the harmful effects of the rays and maximize their benefits.

Protect yourself with hats, gloves and heavy clothing when you are outside for extended periods of time. However, if you still want to look good, try wearing cute hats and sunglasses. These will help block the UV rays from attacking your eyes and head. Wear lipstick, makeup and sun tan lotion with high levels of SPF protection.

Choosing the Right Shampoo

Your hair health is another thing you need to consider. Picking the right shampoo for your hair is important to helping avoid causing serious damage to your hair. Pick a shampoo with a pH level of about 7. This is a neutral level that won’t affect the pH level in your hair. Your hair’s pH level must be maintained to keep bacteria and other outside influences from attacking your hair.

Getting a Scalp Massage

A scalp massage has many benefits that can help increase the health of your hair. It helps to keep your scalp healthy and increases the blood flow to your scalp. This brings more nutrients to your hair follicles, keeping them healthy and safe from damage.

Scalp massages also reduce scalp tension. Too much scalp tension contributes to the overproduction of the chemical sebum which creates greasy, unkempt hair. Tense scalps can also cause hair loss. A relaxed scalp will also lose much of its dead or dying skin cells.

These great beauty tips can help keep you looking younger than your years for a long time. They can also help improve your skin, hair and even your overall health.
